Silk Road Cities Alliance (SRCA) was initiated by Chinese and international public figures. It was officially established in Hong Kong in 2014. In 2017, the Silk Road Cities Alliance was established within the institutional structure of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. The mission of SRCA is promoting non-governmental friendship, cooperation and building a mutual-beneficial platform in the fields of culture, health, economic and trade cooperation among cities along the Belt and Road, and integrating social resources to achieve common goals of development and prosperity.
Beijing Belt & Road Cooperative Community (BRCC) was established and registered in Civil Affairs Bureau of Beijing Municipal Government in 2018, under the leadership of Beijing Municipal Office of Social Construction, aimed at mobilizing social resources, giving play to civil power and providing professional services, thus promoting exchange and cooperation among the cities and peoples along the Belt and Road at the non-governmental level, as well as reinforcing the leading role of the city of Beijing in this regard.
Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY) was established in 2013. It is a new style think tank with Chinese characteristics with more than 90 former politicians, bankers, and preeminent scholars from over 10 countries as senior fellows. It also maintains cooperation with think tanks from over 30 countries. At present, RDCY consists of 7 departments, and runs 3 research centers (the Center for Eco-Financial Studies, Global Governance Research Center, and the Sino-US People-to-People Exchange Research Center).
