The 1st Customs Salon attracted attention from 25 countries

To promote the unimpeded trade and common prosperity along the Belt and Road countries, the Silk Road Cities Alliance (SRCA) and China Customs Brokers Association (CCBA) jointly organized "The 1st Customs Salon" on February 22. Mr. Zhu Gaozhang, President of the CCBA, Mr. Dumitru Braghis, Ambassador of Moldova to China, business and customs officials in from Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Finland, Thailand, Philippines, Colombia, Turkey, Iran, Mexico, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and other 25 countries attended the event, to explore ways to facilitate the international trade circulation. 


Mr. Zhu Gaozhang, Former Customs Counsellor of the Chinese Mission to the EU, focused on the new policies and changes of China customs. He explained the general legislation of China customs, cross-border trade supervision, core provisions of laws and regulations, and introduced the structural adjustments, policy changes and impacts in recent years. 

Dr. Xu Chen, Deputy Secretary General of CCBA and Executive Dean of the Academy of Open Economy Studies, introduced customs clearance process for foreign products entering China. He also answered the questions and exchanged ideas with foreign guests on the topics they concerned about, such as COVID-19 induced changes, import procedure of fresh food, update of the doing-business environment in China.


The Customs Salon is a non-profit platform jointly sponsored by the Silk Road Cities Alliance and China Customs Brokers Association, and voluntarily participated by officials of foreign embassies and consulates, foreign institutions and international import and export enterprises. The key aims of the Customs Salon shall be to explore the issues of "policy, trend and universality" in customs affairs, to strengthen Sino-foreign customs exchanges, to build a bridge for Sino-foreign trade facilitation. The Customs Salon will be held every two months to invite Chinese customs officials, experts and professional customs brokers to exchange views and insights with participants on issues of general concern. Besides, visits and exchanges to China's airports, ports and free trade zones will be organized. The secretariat of Customs Salon will also recommend qualified third party customs service companies.
