To mark the fifth anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative, Silk Road Cities Alliance (SRCA) and Beijing Belt & Road Cooperative Community (BRCC), Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China will co-host a large-scale international youth exchange event entitled "Silk Road & Youth Dream" in Beijing from 11th to 14th August 2018. The talented young people from cities and countries along the "Belt and Road" are invited to share their perception of the "Belt and Road" Initiative by participating in three competitions of speech, music and photography, so as to promote people-to-people exchanges among young people within the framework of the "Belt and Road".
Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China is a think tank with Chinese characteristics. It unites many former politicians, bankers and well-known scholars around the world as its senior researchers, aiming at closely following the latest actual issues, offering suggestions and recommendations to the country and serving the people. In recent years, Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China has a high degree of recognition at home and abroad in research fields such as financial development, global governance, big countries relations, and macroeconomic policies.
This activity has received strong support and specific guidance from the Beijing Municipal Social Construction Office, more than 20 Embassies of the countries along the Belt & Road, international organizations in China, Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts, the National Art Museum of China, Chinese Central Conservatory of Music, Silk Road School of Renmin University of China , Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce (HKCCC), SRCA partner companies and cultural institutions, the Chinese and foreign media and other co-sponsors. The Honorary Chairman of the Silk Road Cities Alliance and former Prime Minister of Italy Mr. Massimo D'Alema and former Prime Minister of France Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin expressed their high appreciation and active support for the event. Leaders for Peace led by Mr. Raffarin, and Foundation Prospective and Innovation of France, which focuses on youth leadership training, strongly support the event. We will actively promote the participation of young people from France and other European countries within the framework of China-France and China-Europe youth exchanges.
As a co-organizer of the event, Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University will reserve 3-5 full scholarship quotas at Renmin University Silk Road School for the winners of the competition.

✓ 2018 is the fifth anniversary of the Belt & Road Initiative, which is the biggest bright spot of the "Silk Road & Young Dreams".

✓ Silk Road & Young Dreams Beijing Declaration will be announced as an outcome document of the event with the support of the partner mainstream media to promote the youth perception of BRI.
✓ In addition to the competitions, a celebration cultural party will be held to promote youth friendship and connectivity of people.
✓ As the international youth cultural exchange project of the largest scale and highest level related to BRI up to now, it is in the process of being incorporated into the sideline events of the 2nd Belt and Road Summit Forum in 2019.
