Silk Road Cities Alliance Holds the Meeting between Global Fund and Chinese Enterprises

“Building One Belt One Road together with the Global Fund” Meeting
 
   In the afternoon of April 24, 2018, Silk Road Cities Alliance held the themed meeting in Beijing “Building One Belt One Road together with the Global Fund”, where representatives from the Global Fund met with Chinese entrepreneurs . Ms. Fathmath Jeehan Saleem, Spouse of Ambassador of the Maldives to China, Mr. Xu Ming, Senior Policy Advisor on Global Relations of the Global Fund, Ms. Bianca Drebber, Director of Corporate Relations, and Mr. San Yuan, Founder of Silk Road Cities Alliance attended the meeting. Companies present at the meeting were: Shanghai Dongshu Industrial Co., Ltd., Yinchuan Tongxin Tongzhi Internet Hospital, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, Haimen Yuansheng Medical Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Yujian Medical, Silk Road Global Information Limited, Beijing Belt & Road Cooperative Community, ZKTECO, Youde Fund and China Overseas Economic Cooperation.

   Representatives of the Global Fund Mr. Xu Ming and Ms. Bianca Drebber introduced the cooperation projects of the Global Fund, and explained in detail the areas and ways of private enterprises` participation in the Global Fund projects. Chinese enterprises can participate in the construction of a global health system in pharmaceuticals, through medical procurement, project investment, donation, etc. 
 
   The Global Fund is an international charity institution fighting against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. It has the world's top health financing system and has a long-term and stable partnership with more than 100 countries, agencies, world famous companies and prominent figures. It plays an important role in the world health field and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
 
 
   Participants discussed development prospects in the field of health, and had a lively discussion on practical cooperation between Chinese companies and the Global Fund in the fields of investment, medical care, commerce and big data. Participants agreed to integrate the advantages of the Global Fund platform with corporate resources and work together to build the "Healthy Silk Road." Ms. Fathmath Saleem, Spouse of the Ambassador of the Maldives to China, who has served in the United Nations and was in charge of public health affairs, shared the experience and significance of strengthening international health cooperation from a bilateral and multilateral perspective. She also highly praised and fully affirmed the meeting organized by the Silk Road Cities Alliance. The Belt and Road health partnership is an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative, therefore she expressed hope that the parties will carry out fruitful cooperation in the field of health care.
 
   Mr. Xu Ming and Ms. Bianca Drebber, Representatives of the Global Fund, and Mr. San Yuan, Founder of Silk Road Cities Alliance, took photo with Mr. Lin Yongsong.
 
   Lin Yongsong, a famous painter, donated his painting to the Global Fund. The painting will be auctioned off by Silk Road Cities Alliance and the money will be donated to the Global Fund for the prevention and control over the three diseases - AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
 
   The event was the first time for the Global Fund to hold a cross-industry private enterprise meeting in China. At the same time, it also was the start of strategic cooperation with the Silk Road Cities Alliance.
