Former Hong Kong Secretary for Home Affairs Mr. Tsang Tak-sing received the title of Silk Road Cities Alliance Honorary Vice Chairman

SRCA leadership has acquired a new top member, adding new impetus into the work of the Alliance.On March 7th, Mr. Tsang Tak-sing, a public figure and former Hong Kong Secretary for Home Affairs, was officially awarded the title of Honorary Vice Chairman of Silk Road Cities Alliance. Mr. Lu Yonghua, Standing Director of Silk Road Cities Alliance and former Chinese ambassador to Austria, on behalf of SRCA, solemnly presented the letter of appointment. He congratulated Mr. Tsang Tak-sing on his new title, expressed gratitude to Mr. Tsang for his valuable support to Silk Road Cities Alliance and hope that under Mr. Tsang`s active promotion, new prospects will be opened and new achievements will be made.

 

Mr. Tsang Tak-sing has served as Hong Kong Secretary for Home Affairs for two sessions, he also served as the representative at the Seventh to the Tenth National People's Congresses. He had played an important role in establishing public affairs in Hong Kong, promoting development of Hong Kong's youth affairs, cultural and art spheres development. Mrs. Wu Bixiu, Secretary-General of SRCA, briefed Mr. Tsang on the key tasks of the Alliance in carrying out friendly exchanges and cooperation among the people of the Belt and Road countries, and reported on this year's key projects, carried out by the Alliance in culture, sports, health, urban management and youth exchange.

  

Mr. Tsang spoke highly of the extensive and fruitful work done since the founding of the Alliance to promote common development among countries along the Belt and Road. He pointed out that this initiative has provided major historical opportunities for Hong Kong's own development, as well as Hong Kong and Mainland`s mutual development and prosperity. Mr. Tsang added that he is willing to make contributions to the further building of the Alliance construction and actively promote participation of Hong Kong's social resources in the development of SRCA, helping Hong Kong society to participate in building the Belt and Road Initiative.

  

Silk Road Cities Alliance Culture Ambassador, famous calligrapher and writer Mr. Li Mingquan, Deputy General Secretary of SRCA Mr. Du Minghao participated in the above activities.
