China and Thailand share family-like relationship and construct the ‘New Silk Road’ together

   On April 1, Bhumithai Pattana Foundation signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation with the Silk Road Cities Alliance in Bangkok United FC. It was aimed to strengthen the cooperation between the two sides in culture, education, agriculture, high technology and ecological environment, to play full advantages, to actively explore cooperation projects in third countries, and to jointly promote the construction of the "One Belt One Road". Guests attended the signing ceremony included HSH Prince Major General, member of the Thai royal family Chulacherm Yugala, President of Bhumithai Pattana Foundation Mrs. Malee Vajrodaya, Chief Representative of the Silk Road Cities Alliance Mr. Giuseppe Rao, General Secretary Mrs. Wu Bixiu and Sino-Thai people from all walks of life.



 

   At the invitation of Thai side, the Silk Road Cities Alliance organized 15 people including the famous botanist Pei Shengji, the famous painter Yang Zhu, Zhang Jinling, Li Mingquan, the well-known businessmen Xie Yong, Yu Lei, Ye Lin, Bai Yufeng to launch a 4-days visit in Thailand from March 30th. During the period, the delegation visited 吉塔拉达项目 of Thai King and called on HSH Prince Chulacherm Yugala. The experts of Chinese brand ‘Dr. Plant’ reached a consensus with Thai specialists on the cooperation of plant diversity conservation, cultivation and processing of ganoderma lucidum, and longevity preservation. ‘Dr. Plant’ decided to set up a rescue team to recover an endangered jackfruit tree of the royal palace, the most authoritative domestic botanists would go to Thailand consultation. The tree is poured by the holy water from Buddha worship, it has been 300 years of history and it is especially important to the Thai Royal Family. It was hoped that the regenerated tree would become a successful case of botanical exchange in China, and also hoped that the tree would breed saplings carrying the Sino-Thai friendship stay evergreen. On March 31st, the artists of delegation called on Mr. Paisan Chayavorakul, President of Artist Association of Thailand and China. Both sides artists exchanged views and jointly created a painting called ’China and Thailand are family--Gentleman culture’. The painting would be auctioned to public by Bhumithai Pattana Foundation and the auction proceeds would be donated to The Thai Red Cross Society to help the people in need.



 

   Silk Road Cities Alliance was initiated by Chinese and international public figures. It was officially established in Hong Kong in 2014, aiming at promoting cooperation in various fields among cities lying along the "One Belt One Road" route by mobilizing, organizing and coordinating domestic and overseas social resources, so as to achieve joint development and prosperity. With the Economics of Enough and the Sustainable Development Theory of King Bhumibol as guidance, Bhumithai Pattana Foundation actively promotes the folk exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in the green, environmental protection, culture, education, health and other aspects, highly according with the development of China's green sharing concept. The visit was a complete success, the two sides reached a consensus on cooperation in academic exchanges and scientific research. It was the first cooperation documents signed between Hong Kong folk institutions and Thailand on the "One Belt One Road" construction, and it demonstrated that the "One Belt One Road" initiative has taken root overseas.
